an open box of length 1.5 m , breadth 1m and height 1m is to be made for use on a trolley for carrying garden waste. how much sheet metal will be required to make this box ? the inside and outside surface of the box is to be painted with rust proof paint. at a rate of 150 rupees per square metre, how much will it cost to paint the box?

surface area of box = 2(L*B +B*H +H*L ) = 2(1.5+1+1) = 7m^2
box is opened required surface area = 7 - L*B = 7-1.5 = 5.5 m^2

total area to be painted = 2*5.5 = 11 m^2

cost = 11×150 = 1650 rs/-
