the process done is roasting and the ore is converted into its metal oxide
after this the metal oxides are decomposed by thermal decomposition so that the metal is extracted. or it can be extracted by reduction with the help of carbon

The metallic ores containing sulphur are first treated through the process of froth floatation. It is basically the process where the ore is added to water and stired. This forms froth which contains the pure ore .
The ore thus obtained then goes through the process of roasting, where the ores are heated at very high temperature with exposure to oxygen. The sulphide ions of the ores form SO2 and metallic oxide. The metallic oxide then heated with carbon monoxide gives the metal.
