an trunk (iron box) of mass 10^4 g is at rest . an external force is given by an body of mass 100 g at a acceleration of 1m/s^2 . the body is displaced by 100 m
find the work done by the body.(ignore the force of friction)

To find :

work done by the body .

Given :

  • Mass of Trunk = 10^4 g
  • mass of Body = 100 g
  • acceleration of body = 1m/s²
  • displacement = 100 m
  • friction force = to be ignored

Formula to be applied :

  • work = Force×displacement
  • Force = mass×acceleration

Solution :

Mass of Trunk = 10^4 g

 \longrightarrow \bold{mass =  {10}^{4} g} \\\longrightarrow \boxed{ \bold{ \red{mass = 10000g}}} \\ \longrightarrow \bold{mass = 10 \: kg}

Force = mass × acceleration

\longrightarrow \bold{force = 10\times 1} \\ \longrightarrow \boxed{ \bold{ \green{force = 10 \:N }}}

Displacement = 100 m

hence, work done = force × displacement

\longrightarrow \bold{work  = 10n\times 100m} \\ \longrightarrow \boxed{ \bold{ \blue{work  \: done= 1000 \: j}}}

hence, The work done = 1000 J
