Explanation:

the rate of diffusion of H2 gas =r2

the rate of diffusion of unknown gas ,r1=5r2

molecular mass of unknown gass =M1

molcular mass of H2 gas=2

rate of diffusion =√molecular mass of unknown gas /Molecular mass of H2 gas

r1/r2=√M1/2

5r2/r2=√M1/2

5/1=√M1/2

squaring on both sides

25/1=M1/2

M1=50
