Africa was considered underdeveloped of having abundant resources because European did not know much about Africa as it was a plateau region the interiors of the continents were not known to Europeans and they called it as a dark continents they mainly used Africa for slaves instead of having such great natural resources. Africa mainly consisted of poor tribal people only who were not educated. but afterward Europeans sent their expeditions to see Africa they found out that it had great resources and colonized that looting their resources so Africa remained underdeveloped
