The Himalayas comprise the most dominating geographical feature of India. No other mountain range anywhere in world has affected the life of people and shaped the destiny of a nation as the Himalayas have in respect of India.

Climatic Influence : Himalayas block the summer monsoon winds and cause precipitation in vast parts of India which support agriculture in plains of Ganges and Indus. Its a vast land with huge population density. It also blocks the cold winds coming from Central Asia and Siberian region. Without Himalayas India would have been a desert with no precipitation.

Tea Gardens : Indian is the largest producer of Tea in the world and it provide us with large amount of dollars and employment to people of Assam and West Bengal. Darjeeling Tea is highly valued around the world.
