Mahatma Gandhi wanted to launch a movement on a broad base.
This broad based movement could be only possible if Hindus and Muslims are united.
To include Muslims in his satyagraha , Mahatma Gandhi supported the Khilafat movement that was organized by Ali brothers.
By this, he ensured Muslims also participated in the independence movement.
Together with Muslims, Gandhi launched The Non Cooperation Khilafat Movement
