No monsoon winds are able to reach it. That is why it has moderate precipitation almost throughout the year. (v)Thiruvanantapuram is on the sea coast and so it receives rainfall from both the southwest and north-east monsoons, besides receiving rainfall due to local disturbances which pick up moisture from the sea.
