A AND B ARE IN SUPPLEMENTARY

A + B = 180°

2x+30+3x-10=180

5x+20=180

5x=160

x=32°

VERIFICATION:-

=3(32)-10+2x+30

=180

\sf\huge\bold{Answer:}

Given :

  • Angle a and b are supplementary
  • a=3x-10
  • b=2x+30

To find :

Measure of angles a & b

Solution :

Sum of supplementary angles is 180°

→a+b=180°

→3x-10+(2x+30)=180°

→3x-10+2x+30=180°

→3x+2x-10+30=180°

→5x+20=180°

→5x=180°-20

→5x=160°

→x=160°/5

→x=32°

Measure of a = 3x-10 = 3(32°)-10 = 96°-10=86°

Measure of b = 2x+30=2(32°)+30=64°+30=94°

a=86° & b = 94°
