angle A + angle B = 180° ..... Pair of Supplementary angles

Let angle A be x .

angle a = x and angle B = 5x

x + 5x = 180°

6x = 180° .

x = 180 °÷ 6

x = 30°

angle A = 30 °

angle B = 160°

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN :

  • angle A and angle B SUPPLEMENTARY
  • if angle B is five times angle A,

PROOF :

∠A+∠B=180° -------(1)   (Supplementary Angles)

∠B = 5∠A ---------(2)

From (1) and (2)

∠A+∠B=180°

=∠A+ 5∠A = 180°

=6∠A = 180°

=∠A  = 180°/6

=∠A  = 30°

If ∠A  = 30° substitute the value of ∠A  in (1)

you Get

∠A+∠B=180°

30°+∠B= 180°

∠B= 180°-30°

∠B= 150°

Conclusion:  ∴ ∠A  = 30° and ∠B= 150° both are supplementary angles

Proof: ∠A+∠B=180°

           30°+150° = 180°
