This is due to the very fact that fusion of sex gametes has a very high probable chance in internal fertilisation where there is perfect condition for there maintenance until fusion... But in external fertilisation there is a very low chance for fusion and very high risk for the termination of the produced gametes.... Due to this reason organisms relying on internal fertilisation(Humans) produce fewer gametes as to compared to organisms relying on external fertilisation(Class Pisces and Class Amphibia)
