It takes approximately 24 trees to produce a ton of writing and printing sheets of paper. When Anita wastes paper, she is directly influencing the number of trees that are cut in the wild to produce them. Though small saplings are planted in lieu of the cut trees, it would take a minimum of 10 to 15 years for the sapling to attain the size and environmental contributions made by a larger tree.

Each cut tree, contributes to producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide , helping to maintaining gaseous balance in the atmosphere. This balance is crucial for survival of several forms of life on Earth.

The tree also helps to maintain water cycle and several other mineral cycles which maintain the flow of minerals in the biosphere.

Als tree is an abode for several organisms, right from microscopic bacteria to animals , which loose their habitat because of cut trees and become more susceptible to predator attacks.

So all in all each wasted paper has an implication on the biodiversity. Thus we should be careful in papaer usage and try using recycled paper .
