So, before including 4% vat the price was Rs. 72.30

Explanation -

Cost of articles = Rs 75.20

Including = 4% vat

100 + 4 = 104 %


Finding the price before vat -

104 % = 75.20

100 % = ? 

(100 x 75.20) ÷ 104 

= 7520 ÷ 104 

= 72.3



Hence:

Price before VAT = Rs 72.3
