Mr. Otto Frank was the father of Anne and Margot Frank. He was from a wealthy family and spent most of his life in Germany. He attended the classical gymnasium and served as a lieutenant of the German army in World War 1. Following the loss of his parent's fortune
during the 1920s' inflammation in Germany, he was able to furnish himself as a businessman in Frankfurt specializing in banking and in the promotion of name brands. He married Edith Frank who was also from a well to do family. When Hitler rose to power in 1933, Mr. Frank reacted by relocating his family to Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. There, he worked in the food products business. When the Nazis invaded the Netherlands, he made arrangements for his family to go into hiding in the building in which he was once employed. He was Anne's favorite relative; she often called him as "Pim". He was the sole surviving member of his family after the war. He arranged for the publication of Anne's diary and died in the early 1980s.
