=> x + ( x + 2 ) = 74
=> x + x + 2 = 74
=> 2x + 2 = 74
=> 2x = 74 - 2
=> 2x = 72
=> x = 72 / 2
=> x = 36
Thus,
The required two numbers are 36 and ( 36 + 2 ) = 38 respectively.
