Answer:

Answer: 160

Step-by-step explanation:

Total time taken = 5hrs

To prove: Total time taken = Time taken to cover 1st part + Time taken to cover second part

Let the distance travelled in 2nd part (80kmph) be 160km then,

The distance travelled in 1st part (30kmph) = Total distance - Distance travelled in 2nd part (in 80kmph) = 250 - 160 = 90

Therefore, Distance = Speed x Time. Similarly, Time = Distance / Speed

1st part (30kmph): Time = 90 / 30 = 3hrs

2nd part (80kmph): Time = 160 / 80 = 2hrs

Time taken for 1st part + 2nd part = 3 + 2 = 5hrs =Total time taken

Therefore, LHS = RHS

Hence Anoop covered 160km in 80kmph.

Given :- Anoop covered a part of a total distance of 250 km at 30kmph and the remaining part at 80 kmph. He covered the entire distance in 5hours . Find the distance he covered at 80kmph.(in km).

1.)100

2.)180

3.)160

4.)120

Solution :-

Let us assume that, he covered x km distance at 80km/h and rest (250 - x) km at 30 km/h .

then,

→ Time taken at 80km/h + Time taken at 80 km/h = 5 hours.

So,

→ (x/80) + (250 - x)/30 = 5

→ {3x + 8(250 - x)}/240 = 5

→ 3x + 2000 - 8x = 240 * 5

→ (-5x) = 1200 - 2000

→ (-5x) = (-800)

→ x = 160 km. (Option 3) (Ans.)

Hence, The Distance he covered at 80km/h is 160 km.
