  1. Kingdom Monera : characteristics of kingdom Monera are as follows

  • They are prokaryotic,single-celled organisms.
  • Cell organelles such as mitochondria and true nucleus are absent.
  • They multiply by binary fission.
  • They are either autotrophic or heterotrophic in nature.
  • They can survive in extreme conditions.

Kingdom Protista : Characteristics of kingdom protista are as follows:

  • They are eukaryotic,single - celled organisms.
  • The cell has a well-organised nucleus with one or more nucleoli
  • The cell possesses mitochondria.
  • They are either autotrophic or heterotrophic in nature.
  • There is a special structure called contractile vacuole which helps to remove waste.
  • Pseudopodia , cilia or flagella are present for locomotion.
  • They reproduce asexually by binary fission or multiple fission.
