QUESTION :-

A car is travelling at 36km/h. If its velocity increases to 72km/h in 5s, then find the acceleration of the car in SI unit.

SOLUTION :-

Initial Velocity (u) = 36km/h

Final Velocity (v) = 72km/h

Time (t) = 5 seconds

To convert hours into seconds

1km/h = \frac{1000}{60 \times 60}  =  \frac{5}{18} m/s

u = 36 \times  \frac{5}{18}  = 10m/s

v = 72 \times  \frac{5}{18}  = 20m/s

Acceleration =  \frac{change \: in \: velocity}{time}

a =  \frac{v - u}{t}

a =  \frac{20 - 10}{5}

a =  \frac{10}{5}

a = 2m/s
