Answer is C4H3O2

Explanation

First you have to convert C/H/O in to grams ,that is C=57.82 gm / H=3.6 grams / O=38.58 gm

then divide it by the actual molar mass of the element , that is C 57.82 ÷ 12 = 4.81 / H 3.6 ÷ 1 = 3.6 / O 38.58÷16 = 2.41

FIND THE LEAST VALUE { here it’s oxygen with 2.41 }

again divide C = 4.81÷(LEAST VALUE) = 1.99 {TAKE IT AS IN ROUND FIGURE (2)}

lly H = 3.6÷(LEAST VALUE) = 1.49 {1.5}

lly O = 2.41÷2.41 = 1

NOW see carefully we got a value of H=1.5 which is not suitable for emperical formula

so we have to multiply a whole no {here we multiply with 2}

C = 2×2 = 4 ATOMS

H =1.5x2 = 3 ATOMS

O = 1x2 = 2 ATOMS

ANSWER = C4H3O2
