let ABC be the tower and D be the distance moved towards the tower.

angle ABC= 45 degree

angle ADC= 60 degree

CD = 40m

let height of the tpwer be h metre and BD = x metre

from triangle ABC

tan 45 degree = P/B

1 = h/40+x

h = 40+x                                                       equation 1

from triangle ABD

tan 60 degree = P/B

root 3= h/ x

h= root3x                                                    equation 2

from 1 and 2

40+x=root 3x

40 =root3x-x

40 = x(root3-1)

x= 40/root3-1

put value of root 3= 1.732

x = 40/ 1.732-1

x= 40/0.732

x= 54.64m

put the value of x in equation number 1

h=  40 + x

h = 40 + 54.64

h = 94.64 m                                              (approximately)
