alluvial soils are the most important and widely spread soil enter Northern Plains are made of Alluvial soil. Alluvial soil concerts various properties of sand silt and clay soil as a whole are very fertile these are ideal for growth of sugarcane paddy wheat and other pulse crops due to high fertility of the soil regions of Alluvial soil are intentionally cultivated densely populated

The Alluvial Soil is found in river deltas of Indian Coast.
Main features of the Alluvial Soil is:-
1) It consist of various proportions of sand, silt and clay.
2) It is very fertile.
3) It contain Pottash, Lime and Phosphorus.
4) It is formed when silt is brought up by river due to course of long journey.
5) Examples:-
Crops like Rice, Sugar, Oil seeds, Wheat can be grown.
