anshu's present age is 4 times of jatin's age. if jatin's age 5 years ago was x year. then find anshu's present age?

hi Iana,

Let a and j be their present ages, then

Given
a = 4j
j-5 = x

j = x+5
a = 4j
a=4(x+5)
a = 4x+20

Anshu's present age is 4x+20

present age of Jatin = y

present age of Anshu =4y

age of Jatin before 5 years =y-5

age of anshu before 5 years = 4y-5

if jatin's age before 5 years= 10

then y-5=10
y=10+5 =15...

them Anshu's age is4y =4*15= 60...
