Answer:

a) larynx

The larynx, or voice box, is located in the neck and performs several important functions in the body. The larynx is involved in swallowing, breathing, and voice production.

b) The diaphragm, located below the lungs, is the major muscle of respiration. It is a large, dome-shaped muscle that contracts rhythmically and continually, and most of the time, involuntarily. Upon inhalation, the diaphragm contracts and flattens and the chest cavity enlarges

c) During gas exchange oxygen moves from the lungs to the bloodstream. At the same time carbon dioxide passes from the blood to the lungs. This happens in the lungs between the alveoli and a network of tiny blood vessels called capillaries, which are located in the walls of the alveoli.

d) carbondioxide

The gas which is expelled during expiration is carbondioxide. It is produced as a result of oxidation of glucose in the tissues which is called as cellular respiration.

e) The process of breathing, or respiration, is divided into two distinct phases. The first phase is called inspiration, or inhaling. When the lungs inhale, the diaphragm contracts and pulls downward. ... As a result, the lungs contract and air is forced out.

f) The pharynx is part of the digestive system as well as the respiratory system because it carries both food and air.

g) The nose and nasal cavity form the main external opening for the respiratory system and are the first section of the body's airway—the respiratory tract through which air moves.

h) aerobic respiration.

The respiration that takes place in the presence of oxygen is called aerobic respiration because it uses 'air' which contains oxygen. The aerobic respiration involves utilization of oxygen for the breakdown of chemical bonds in glucose to release energy in high amounts.

I) cellular respiration

Respiration:- It is the process by which food (glucose) is broken down in the cells of the body with the help of oxygen to release energy. Since respiration takes place in the cells of the body, it is called cellular respiration.

J) alveoli

Tiny air sacs at the end of the bronchioles (tiny branches of air tubes in the lungs). The alveoli are where the lungs and the blood exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide during the process of breathing in and breathing out.
