1. Butane, or C4H10 , has two structural (also called constitutional) isomers called normal butane, or unbranched butane, and isobutane, or i-butane. According to IUPAC nomenclature, these isomers are called simply butane and methylpropane.

2. Carbon forms only covalent compounds. Because Carbon has 4 electrons in its outermost shell. Therefore, carbon completes its octet by sharing its 4 electrons with other carbon atoms or with atoms of other elements and forms covalent bond. It forms strong covalent bonds because of its small size.
