CDMA stands for code division multiple access, whereas TDMA stands for Time division multiple access.

Following are the differences between CDMA and TDMA.

(1) CDMA does not assign a specific frequency to each user, whereas TDMA does.

(2) CDMA used in 3GPP2 standards such as CDMA and CDMA EVDO, whereas TDMA was used in the 2G systems such as GSM, GPRS, and EDGE.

(3) In CDMA synchronization is not required, whereas in TDMA synchronization is required.

Hope this helps!
