Let the original amount of money he had be 'x'.

Given that after incurring a loss of 33 1/3(100/3)%, a man had 18600 left with him.

⇒ x - (100/3)% of x = 18600

⇒ x - (100/300) * x = 18600

⇒ x - (100x)/300 = 18600

⇒ (300x - 100x) = 18600 * 300

⇒ 200x = 5580000

⇒ x = 27900.

Therefore, the amount he originally had = 27900.

Hope this helps!
