Let, the price of tea and sugar be Rs. x and Rs. y respectively per kg.

By the given conditions,

  • 2x + 3y = 200 .....(i)
  • 4x + 3y = 350 .....(ii)

On subtraction, we get

4x - 2x + 3y - 3y = 350 - 200

or, 2x = 150

or, x = 75

Putting x = 75 in (i), we get

2 (75) + 3y = 200

or, 150 + 3y = 200

or, 3y = 200 - 150 = 50

or, y = 50/3

Therefore, the price of tea is Rs. 25 and that of sugar is Rs. 50/3 per kg.

Let, the price of oil and ghee be Rs. x and Rs. y respectively per kg.

By the given conditions,

  • y = (5/2) x .....(i)
  • 3x + 2y = 320 .....(ii)

Putting y = (5/2) x in (ii), we get

3x + 2 (5/2) x = 320

or, 3x + 5x = 320

or, 8x = 320

or, x = 40

Putting x = 40 in (i), we get

y = (5/2) 40

or, y = 5 × 20

or, y = 100

Therefore, price of oil is Rs. 40 and that of ghee is Rs. 100 per kg.
