Let the length of the rectangle be x m and breadth be ym.

Given that length of a playground is twice its breadth.

x = 2y

x - 2y = 0  ------ (1)

Given perimeter = 600.

The perimeter of a rectangular playground = 2(l + b)

                                          600 = 2(l + b)

                                          600 = 2(2y + y)

                                          600/2 = 3y

                                          300 = 3y

                                          y = 100.

Substitute y = 100 in (1), we get

x - 2y = 0

x - 2(100) = 0

x - 200 = 0

x = 200.

Therefore:

The length of the playground = 200m.

The breadth of the playground = 100m.

Hope this helps!

Hey !!

Here is your answer.... ⬇⬇⬇

Let the length of playground = x m
Breadth of playground = y m

➡ As per first condition, length of playground is twice it's breadth.

x = 2y ----------- ( 1 )

➡ Given that perimeter of playground = 600 m

2 ( L + B ) = 600

2 ( 2y + y ) = 600

2 ( 3y ) = 600

3y = 600/2

3y = 300

y = 100 m

Put the value of ( y ) in eq. ( 1 )

x = 2y
x = 2 ( 100 )
x = 200 m

length of playground ( x ) is 200 m.
Breadth of playground ( y ) is 100 m.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU.... ^-^
