(a) The end of the solenoid at which current flows in the anticlockwise direction will act as a north pole and the end where current flows in clockwise direction will act as a south pole.

(b) The magnetic field produced in a current carrying solenoid is similar to that produced by a bar magnet.

When current flows in anticlock wise it is said to b in the direction of North Pole and if it colockwise it is said to b South Pole


And the magnetic field produced by current carring solenoid is similar to the current produced by bar magnet
