1) Mandela had high hopes for the future of South Africa. He pledged to liberate all South Africans from the continuing bondage of poverty, deprivation, suffering, gender and other discrimination. He also stressed that the beautiful land of South Africa would never ever experience racial discrimination again.

2) The underlying message for us in our hectic life with reference to the poem 'Dust of Snow' is that we should enjoy nature utmost and we should have a positive out look even towards simple acts because they can lead to the learning of greater lessons of enjoying life.

3) His mother had a piece of fish in her beak and she was teasing the young seagull with it. Because the sight of the food "maddened" him, he wanted to snatch it from his mother. The young seagull dove towards the food not realizing that he was already flying. This hunger compelled him to finally take his first flight.
