Answer in detail.
1. Explain the unique properties of refraction with the aid of suitable ray diagrams.

Answer:
Explanation:
As light goes into a medium which is denser, the light ray will 'bend' toward the normal. When it goes back into the less dense medium (with a lower refractive index), it will bend back through the same angle as when it came in (if the surface at exit is parallel to the surface at entry).
Hope it helps u
●When a ray of light enters a denser medium ( say from air to glass ) it always bends towards the normal. so the angle of refraction will be less than the angle of incidence (angle i>angle r).
●A ray of light travelling from a denser to a rarer medium always bends away from the normal. In this case ,the angle of refraction will be more than the angle of incidence (angle of i< angle of r).
●A ray of light travelling along the normal does not suffer any refraction. In this case, both the angle of incidence and the angle of refraction will be equal to zero. (angle of i=angle of r=0).
