Answer is 250 km [w] but somebody please explain why we have to subtract the final with the initial value instead of adding them. I thought that total displacement meant addition? Is subtraction the only exception when talking about position? Thanks

Answer:

displacement = shortest distance between final and initial position.

= xf-xi

=250km

the thing you are saying is about distance....the total distance will be addition..

but in displacement wheter its total or final...

it is always the shortest path between initial and final.
