Explanation:
In life, there will always be ups and downs, even when we least expect it. These are normal for us, but when we lost, the world seems to come crashing down and we feel so worried and even stressed about it. But this one experience changed my whole perception of life and the feeling of loss.
It was this one game of football that left me quite impressed. Our team was going against a team that had dominated the whole game for quite some years now. We were just a group of rouge, first-timers who had no such experience of winning. We were the underdogs of the game, having never even won a single game beyond the qualifiers. But luckily, we went through our matches and managed to get to the semi-finals.
On the day of the game, we were so nervous that even our coach was visibly nervous. He admitted it had been a long time, decades actually since he was the last present in a semi-final game. So, this game was a new thing for us all. We decided that we will play like we always do, not indulging in any foul play even when the other team acts rowdy and aggressive. We also decided to play fair, even if some acts may anger us. Our coach gave us the mantra- always play fair and never cheat, which was also our team spirit.
So, when the game started and we played, it was obvious our luck had run out and this was the end of the road for us. But as underdogs, we were quite surprised at the length we had come and were also impressed with ourselves. But what strikes the most was the reception we got from the people. The winning team, our opponents, as well as the crowd, were so impressed by our behavior that they gave us a standing ovation. One local newspaper even gave us the title "local heroes", which made us quite proud. We may have lost the game, but we definitely won the hearts of the people.
