Given : AB || DE , angle ABC and CDE = 75° and 145 ° respectively.

To Find : angle BCD

Construction : Draw a line RS || AB || DE

Now :

angle ABC + BCR = 180° ( angles on the same transversal )

75° + BCR = 180°

BCR = 180° - 75°

angle BCR = 105°

angle CDE + DCS = 180° ( angles on the same transversal )

145° + DCS = 180°

DCS = 180° - 145°

angle DCS = 35°

angle BCR + BCD + DCS = 180° ( angles on the straight line )

105° + BCD + 35° = 180°

140° + BCD = 180°

BCD = 180° - 140°

angle BCD = 40° .
