Distance covered in 1 hour = \frac{17}{5} km

Distance covered in \frac{8}{3} hour = \frac{17}{5} * \frac{8}{3}

∴ Ricky covers \frac{136}{15} km in 4\frac{1}{3} hours.

Answer:

In first case

distance = 17/5 km

time =1 hr

speed =distance/time =( 17/5/)1 km/hr = 17/5

In second case

time = 13/3 hr

speed = 17/5 km/ hr

distance = speed × time = (13/3)×(17/5)=14.733

since avg distance is asked the answer is 14
