let the volume of the each vessel is 50 ml so volume of water in each vessel should be 50/3 and 50/4 respectively

after adding the total volume is 100
and total volume of milk is 50/3 + 50/4

after solving we get 350/12

so the ratio of vol. of milk to the total volume is

(350/12)/100
= 7/24. ......(1)

so the part of milk is 7/24
and the part of water is

1 - 7/24
= 17/24. ...(2)
dividing eqn (1) ^(2)
we have the ratio
7:17
is the answer
