Potassium permanganate(KMnO4) in this solution decomposes ferrous sulphate(FeSO4) and reacts with Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) and gives Manganese sulphate(MnSO4),Ferric sulphate(Fe2(SO4)3,Potassium sulphate (K2SO4) and water. As KMnO4 is getting reduced to MnSO4 it acts as oxidizing agent and oxidises FeSO4.
