the process is called to show light is essential for photosynthesis
a plotted plant is kept in a dark for two or three days to destarch the leaves. before putting the plotted plant in the sunlight a leaf is selected and black strips of paper are placed on the upper and lower surface of the leaves and clipped.in the evening the strips of paper are removed the leaf is plucked and tested for starch!!!
it is observed that the coloured portion of the leaf did not give a positive test for starch.
