(a) The leaves of tress are small in thar because to prevent the loss of water by transportation and their roots are long so as to penetrate deep inside the soil in search of water .

(b) The tropical rainforest are also called evergreen forest because these forest gets rainfall throughout the year and hence they appear green throughout the year.

(c) Vegetation is absent beyond 4500m because at that extreme temperature no trees are able to survive , also trees do no get sufficient amount of light , water air for survival hence no trees are found.

(a) Mountain vegetation features :-

1. Trees in mountain have spine leaves to prevent the accumulation of snow on the surface of leaves.
2. Rainfall is very less.
3. Main trees are found are pine tree.

(b) In Desert vegetation rainfall is 50 cm whereas in mangrove forest rainfall is 150 cm .

In mangrove forest , trees are green throughout the year whereas in desert vegetation leaves of trees are modified into spines and some of them shed their leaves.

In mangrove forest , trees roots are above the surface of soil whereas in desert vegetation , roots of trees are situated deep inside the soil.

(c) Forest are useful to us in the following ways :-

1. Forest provide raw materials for the industries.
2. Forest provide valuable wood , timber amd many valuable products.
3. Forest help to clean the atmosphere and makes the environment free from pollution.
4. Transportation from the forest results in rain.
