Given:

  • PQRS is a Parallelogram
  • PM is the height from P to SR
  • RN is the height from R to PS.
  • SR = 12cm
  • PM = 8cm

To Find:-

  • Area of the Parallelogram
  • Measure of RN

Solution:

First, We have to find the area of Parallelogram to find the measure of RN. Lets Find out.

Area of Parallelogram = Base × Height

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ = ⠀⠀ SR ⠀ × ⠀ PM

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ = ⠀ 12 ⠀ × ⠀ 8

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ = ⠀96 cm²

Hence, Area of Parallelogram is 96 cm²

Now, We know that what is the area of Parallelogram so we can easily find the Measures of RN

So,

RN , if RS = 8cm

Base × Height = Area of Parallelogram

⠀ RS⠀×⠀RN⠀⠀⠀=⠀ 96 cm²

⠀ 8 ⠀ × ⠀RN⠀⠀⠀⠀ = ⠀⠀96 cm²

⠀⠀⠀\sf{ RN  =  } \sf\dfrac{96}{8}

⠀⠀ ⠀ \sf{ RN =     12cm}^{2}

Hence, Measure of RN is 12cm².
