We know that fruits and vegetables like apples, bananas, brinjals and potatoes are a rich source of iron, and we also know that air is a mixture of various gases like oxygen , carbon dioxide , etc. When the oxygen in the air get in contact with the iron in the fruits or vegetables,it turns it brown forming iron oxide.
