1. Everything that surrounds us is called an environment.

2. Waste is the leftovers of things which has been used primarily.

Solid wastes include solid portions of the leftover materials such as glass bottles, plastic containers, metals and radioactive wastes. Liquid wastes are the liquid part of the waste material like industrial waste water and domestic waste water.

3. Two ways by which wastes can be dispose

i) Landfill. ii) incineration

4. The process of converting plant and animal wastes, kitchen wastes like left-over food, vegetable, and fruit peels, into nutrient-rich manure is called composting.

5. Biodegradable wastes are the wastes that have any organic matters and can decompose in the soil. These wastes are useful.

Example- vegetable peels, egg shells.

6. Non biodegradable wastes are the wastes which does not decompose.

Example- plastic, metals.

7. Reduce - the process by which wastes can be reduced by using less materials.

Recycle - the process by which waste materials can be converted into usable materials.

Reuse - The process of using an object many times.

8. 5 steps are-

i) ban on plastic use.

ii) using less and less materials.

iii) not throwing wastes in clean surroundings.

iv) keeping our water clean.

v) increasing use of dustbins.
