here potential difference is 220 volt and current must be 5 ampere (acc to the question)

so equivalent resistance connected to the circuit must be 220/5=44ohm

and we have only 176ohm resistor which is to connect in parralel

let us assume N reasistor when connected in parrallel will give 44ohm

than 1/44=1/176+1/176+....N times

1/44=N/176

N = 176/44

=4

2nd question

total energy used

= 100×8+300×4

=2000watt hour

=2 unitper day

for one month its price will be 2×4×30

=240
