Given :-



Two coins of diameter 2cm and 4cm respectively are kept one over the other as shown in the figure.




To find :-



The area of shaded ring shaped in square cm.




Salutation :-



The radius of the first circle is ( r ) 2 / 2 cm = 1 cm



And , the area is π×r² cm² = π cm²



And , the radius of the second circle is ( R ) 4 / 2 cm = 2 cm



So , the area is πR² = π× ( 2 )² cm² = 4π cm²



Therefore , The area of shaded ring shaped in square cm will be



( 4π - π ) cm²



= 3π cm²



= 3 × 22 / 7 cm²       [ • π = 22 / 7 ]



= 66 / 7 cm²             [ ★ Required answer ]
