Here's your answer...
The answer will be 18.
In the relations, the first term is the name of the shell. The second term is the maximum number of electrons that shell can hold.
The shell L is second, so n = 2 and the number of electrons it can hold is 2n² = 2×2² = 8.
The shell M is third, so n = 3 and the number of electrons it can hold is 2n² = 2×3² = 18.

Question on correlation .
Given that : -
Shell L : 8 :: Shell M : ?
We know,
maximum number of electrons that can be accommodated in a shell is given by the formula 2n² ( n is the serial number of shell).
Then , L shell is the second cell,
So on that basis , 2n² = 2 × (2)² = 8
Thus, L : 8
Similarly,
M is the 3rd shell.
So, 2n² = 2 × (3)² = 18
Therefore,
Shell L : 8 :: Shell M : 18
