We know that Frequency - Wavelength of a Light are Related by :

  • c = νλ
  • c is the Velocity of the light in Vacuum which is 3 × 10⁸ m/s
  • ν is the Frequency of the Light
  • λ is the Wavelength of the Light

Given the Frequency of the yellow line is 5.09 × 10¹⁴ s⁻¹

⇒ 3 × 10⁸ = 5.09 × 10¹⁴ × λ

\implies \lambda = \frac{3\times10^8}{5.09\times10^1^4}

⇒ λ = 5.89 × 10⁻⁷ meter

Wavelength of the Light = 5.89 × 10⁻⁷ meter
