19. Deforestation, clearance, or clearing is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a non-forest use.

The conversion of forests into agricultural plantations is a major cause of deforestation. The increase in global demand for commodities, such as palm oil and soybeans, are driving industrial-scale producers to clear forests at an alarming rate.

20. One of the major consequences of deforestation is a loss of biodiversity. Deforestation also increases greenhouse gas emissions, disrupts the water cycle, increases soil erosion and decreases the natural beauty of an area.

21. Desertification is a type of land degradation in which a relatively dry area of land becomes increasingly arid, typically losing its bodies of water as well as vegetation and wildlife.

Human activities like intensive use of agriculture lands and deforestation are the major causes leads to the desertification.

22. I mentioned desertification and deforestation above as the deforestation leads to the removal of tress so the soil becomes loose due to many reasons such as unavailability of rains and many climatic changes.

23. Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants.

24. Plants absorb water from the soil and evaporates it to form clouds. Deforestation leads to cutting down of trees. As a result less water is absorbed from the soil and it disturbs the water cycle. The formation of clouds becomes difficult which leads to reduced rainfall.

Deforestation plays many roles in the flooding because trees prevent sediment runoffs and forests hold more water than farms or grasslands.

25. The regions of the surface and atmosphere of the earth is called biosphere.
