1.Let the amount to kiran be x.
 Then, 1000+x+500+x+x = 13500
               1500 + 3x         = 13500
                           3x          = 13500 - 1500
                           3x          = 12000 
                            x           =  12000/3 = 4000 rupees

  Then amount received by jenifer is 500 + 4000  = 4500 rupees
 
2. Let the water in second tank be x. Then the water in first tank is 2x.

 Then, 2x - 25 = x + 25
          2x          = x + 25 + 25
          2x          = x + 50
          2x - x     = 50
          x            = 50
     
Therefore, the volume of water in each tank is 50 litres and 100 litres
