Answer:

1) Environmental factors like temperature, water and light may influence the members of communities in varying degrees. ... In this process, they may try to maintain a constant internal environment through homeostasis or migrate to a less stressful environment or may even suspend activities till favourable conditions return.

2) Organic farming is holistic approach for controlling plant pest because it seeks to develop an understanding of the interactions amongst the organisms in the ecosystem. Organic farmers do not try to completely eradicate the pest but keep them at manageable levels. A complete eradication of the pest is not beneficial and also not desirable because many beneficial predatory and paralytic insects can not survive without them.

3) 1. Maintaining the prey population; this regulates intra-species competition. This also helps in checking any overgrazing by herbivores, which might ultimately lead to an unbalanced ecosystem. For example, if tigers are removed from a forest, spotted deer will multiply rapidly.

4) Adaptation in desert plants:

(i) Desert plants have thick waxy coating on leaf called cuticle for minimum loss of water, through transpiration.

(ii) They have special photosynthetic pathway (CAM) that enables minimum loss of water during day time because stomata remain closed.

5) When the temperature outside the body is higher then, our body sweat to lower down the temperature of the body. If the temperature outside the body is very low then body shivers to generate heat and increase the temperature of body. So in summers , we sweat and in winters we shiver.

Answer:

1-Organic farming is holistic approach for controlling plant pest because it seeks to develop an understanding of the interactions amongst the organisms in the ecosystem. Organic farmers do not try to completely eradicate the pest but keep them at manageable levels. A complete eradication of the pest is not beneficial and also not desirable because many beneficial predatory and paralytic insects can not survive without them.

2- Predators play an important role in: 1. Maintaining the prey population; this regulates intra-species competition. This also helps in checking any overgrazing by herbivores, which might ultimately lead to an unbalanced ecosystem.for example if tigers are removed from forest spotted deers will multiply rapidly

3-Desert plants have thick waxy coating on leaf called cuticle for minimum loss of water, through transpiration. (ii) They have special photosynthetic pathway (CAM) that enables minimum loss of water during day time because stomata remain closed. (iii) Some desert plants develop spines instead of leaf and photosynthetic function is carried out by the flattened stem.
