Hey there !

Thanks for the question !

Solution:

Formula to be used:

  • Frequency = Speed / Wave Length

Given Information:

  • Wave Period = 4 s
  • Speed = 40 m/s

To Find:

  • Frequency = ?

Illustration:

Frequency = Speed / Wave Length

Wave Length = Speed × Wave Period

=> Wave Length = 40 m/s × 4 s = 160 m

=> Frequency = Speed / Wavelength

=> Frequency = 40 m/s / 160 m

=> Frequency = 1 / 4 = 0.25 Hz

Hence the frequency of the wave is 0.25 Hz.

Hope my answer helped !
